1. Tropical Party Mardi Gras Fruit Punch

It’s a celebration Mardi Gras punch bursting with tropical fruit taste from splashes of passion fruit, pineapple, guava, and a mix of fresh-squeezed citrus juices. Finish it all off with splashes of dark rum for a boozy sip of paradise that captures the spirit of Mardi Gras in every single sip!

  • Ingredients:
  • 1 1 orange, whole Orange fresh squeezed juice of
  • 1 1/2 cups Guava
  • 1 Lemon, whole
  • 1 Lemon wheels
  • 1 Lime, whole
  • 1 Lime wheels
  • 2 cups Passion fruit
  • 1 can Pineapple
  • 2 oz Simple syrup
  • 2 cups Cranberry juice
  • 1 3/4 cup Pineapple juice, Pure 1 can Sparkling water
  • 1 Maraschino cherries (sliced or added to punch cups
  • 2 1/4 cup Rum, Dark

To Serve:

Open the can of sliced pineapple and pour into a medium to large punch bowl.

Using a citrus press, squeeze in the juice of one whole lemon, the juice of one whole lime, and the juice of one whole fresh orange.

Next, splash in the passion fruit juice, the pure pineapple juice, cranberry juice, guava juice, and simple syrup.

Give everything a gentle stir to combine and splash in the 2 and 1/4 cups of dark rum.

Top with 1 to 2 cans of sparkling water as desired and give one more gentle stir to combine.

To adjust sweetness, if needed, add more fresh lime or lemon juice. If on the dry or tart side, add more simple syrup by the tablespoon to taste, until desired balance is reached.

Finish by floating thin sliced wheels of fresh lemon, orange, and lime on top of the punch. Dot the floating fruit with slices of maraschino cherry.

To serve your festive Mardi Gras punch recipe with rum, fill punch cups individually with fresh ice and ladle in the punch. Top with fresh citrus slices and cherries. Serve very cold.

Who better to start off the this festive Mardi Gras drinks list than Emeril Lagasse?  If you love cocktails with bold berry flavor, then give Emeril’s Berry Bacchus cocktail a try.  Splashes of vodka, ginger-mint syrup, and Chambord come together to infuse this simple Mardi Gras cocktail with bold fruity flavor.

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 oz Ginger-mint syrup
  • 3/4 oz Lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • 3/4 oz Lime juice, freshly squeezed
  • 1 1/2 oz Cathead vodka
  • .75 ounces Chambord

To Serve:

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and then add the vodka, chambord, Ginger-Mint Syrup, and lemon and lime juice and shake until cold. Strain over fresh ice and garnish with a lime twist.

3. A fruity Gin and Rum Hurricane Cocktail Mardi Gras Drink Recipe

This next drink recipe with rum and gin is a boozy hurricane cocktail made famous from the Pat O’Briens piano lounge on Bourbon Street. A dash of grenadine, pineapple juice, grapefruit juice, and passion fruit all add juicy tropical touches to the finished mixed drink.

Ingredients:

  • 1 ounce or 2 tablespoons of vodka
  • 1 ounce or 2 tablespoons of gin
  • 2 ounces of gold rum (or 1 ounce each of light and dark rum*)
  • 1 ounce or 2 tablespoons of amaretto almond liqueur
  • 1 ounce or 2 tablespoons of triple sec or orange liqueur
  • 1 tablespoon of grenadine
  • Grapefruit juice + pineapple juice, and/or passion fruit purée, as needed
  • Simple syrup*, optional, to taste

To Serve:

Fill each hurricane glass or the tallest glass you have about halfway full with ice. Measure the vodka, gin, rum, amaretto, triple sec, and grenadine into the hurricane glass(es). Stir to combine it all. Alternatively, you can shake the liquors and liqueurs in a cocktail shaker with ice until it frosts over. Then strain them into the glass and add the grenadine. 

Fill the remaining space in the glass with passion fruit juice, or an equal combination of pineapple and grapefruit juice. Give another quick stir to blend the drink. Garnish the hurricane with an orange slice and maraschino cherries. And for the real Pat O’Brien’s New Orleans experience, serve and sip your hurricane through two tall straws. 


4. Citrus Rum Mardi Gras Punch

 This fun Mardi Gras cocktail is a festive Mardi Gras punch recipe loaded with splashes two types of rum.  Light rum, dark rum, fruit punch, and blood orange juice make a zesty combination in the punch bowl with dashes of grenadine.  It all comes together to create a citrusy boozy rum punch perfect for a Mardi Gras crowd.  This is a great batch cocktail for anyone who needs Mardi Gras party ideas. 

Ingredients

  • 16 ounces of red fruit punch
  • 16 ounces blood orange juice
  • 6 oz frozen limeade concentrate, thawed
  • 6 oz frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed
  • 1 2/3 cups light rum
  • 1 2/3 cups dark rum
  • Ice

To Serve:

Sir to combine. Place Blood orange, lime and lemon slices, maraschino cherries on op of the bowl as a garnish.  If you want to be really fancy, create an ice mold with the citrus slices on top.  Let the water and citrus freeze solid in a bundt pan and place it in your hurricane punch bowl!

5. Festive King Cake Shots

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 oz. cognac or bourbon 
  • 2 oz. orange liquor, such as Cointreau or Triple Sec
  • 1 1/2 oz. lemon juice
  • Orange or lemon twist, for garnish

To Serve:

Place the granulated sugar on a plate. Dip just the rims of the glasses in water, then dip in the sugar.In a cocktail shaker, combine the cognac, cointreau, lemon juice and ice. Shake for 10-20 seconds to chill thoroughly, then strain into two martini or coupe glasses. Garnish with an orange or lemon twist.

Ingredients:

  • 2 ounces Don Q coconut rum
  • 2 ounces Kila Kai spiced rum
  • 2 ounces mango passion fruit juice
  • 1- ounce simple syrup
  • 1- ounce lime juice
  • 1/2 ounce Marker’s Mark Bourbon Flavored cherry juice

To Serve:

No Mardi Gras celebration is complete without a King Cake cocktail.  This sweet and creamy little number is perfect for those of you who enjoy the world of creamy dessert drinks.  Decadent hints of Bailey’s Irish Cream, half & half, and King Cake vodka add body and silky sweetness.

Ingredients:

  • Green, purple and yellow sanding sugar for rimming the glass
  • 3 ounces King Cake Vodka
  • 1 ounce Grand Marnier
  • 1 ounce Baileys Irish Cream
  • 3 ounces half and half, optional
  • Ground cinnamon, for dusting

To Serve:

Add a small amount each of green, purple and gold sanding sugar on a plate, keeping them separate.
Moisten the rim of a martini glass, then press part of the rim into each colored sugar, being careful not to mix the colors.
Combine the vodka, Grand Marnier and Baileys in a cocktail shaker with ice (and half and half if desired). Shake well, then strain into the prepared glass. Dust with cinnamon.

8. Easy Passionfruit Rum Cocktail for Mardi Gras

Ingredients:

Purple Jello Layer

  • Purple sugar for garnish
  • 1 ounce Galliano
  • 4 ounces sparkling wine 
  • 2 ounces orange juice

To Serve:

Place a tablespoon of water on a saucer and pour purple sanding sugar on another. Dip the rim of a champagne flute in the juice and then in the sugar. Set aside to dry.

Add Galliano to sugar-rimmed flute and top with sparkling wine. Once the bubbles settle, top with orange juice and serve. 

10. Vibrant Vodka Rum Cocktail with Midori

This next drink makes another great addition to these amazing Mardi Gras cocktails.  Fruity and bright pineapple juice adds a tropical touch while slashes of melon-flavored Midori, vodka, gin, and rum add a boozy finish to this tall highball-like Mardi Gras drink.

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups Midori melon liqueur
  • 2 cups pineapple juice
  • 1 cup vodka
  • 1 cup gin
  • 1 cup white rum

To Serve:

Fill a cocktail shaker full of ice. Add the Midori (1.5 oz), pineapple juice (2 oz), vodka (1 oz), gin (1 oz), and white rum (1 oz) to the shaker. Cover and shake until the drink is well chilled. At least 20-30 shakes.

Fill a glass full of ice and strain the mixture into the glass using a highball glass.

Garnish with a few pineapple leaves, honeydew melon ball, or pineapple spear.

11. Brandy Milk Punch Mardi Gras Drink REcipe

This easy brandy milk punch cocktail is such a fun and delicious mixture to celebrate Mardi Gras with.  Splashes of brandy and a vanilla bean syrup add warm flavors to this fun drink all dressed up with edible gold leaf!

  • Ingredients for Simple Syrup:
  • 1/2 Cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 Cup water
  • 2 Teaspoons vanilla bean paste
  • 1 Teaspoon vanilla extract, pure

  • Ingredients for Drink:
    edible gold leaf flakes, optional garnish
  • 1 1/2 Ounce brandy, such as E&J XO
  • 1 Ounce vanilla bean simple syrup, recipe above
  • 1 1/2 Ounce whole milk
  • 1 Ounce heavy cream
  • ice
  • nutmeg, freshly grated

To Serve:

Using your finger, dampen about ¼ of the outside of your glass with water. Using tweezers, place edible gold leaf flakes along the wet area of the glass, patting the flakes down with a small paintbrush.

Add 3 to 4 ice cubes to a cocktail shaker. Pour in brandy, vanilla bean simple syrup, whole milk, and heavy cream.  Shake for about 20 seconds until chilled though. Pour into prepared cocktail glass over crushed ice. Top with freshly-grated nutmeg and a sprinkling of edible gold leaf, if desired.

12. Festive King Cake Daiquiri mardi Gras Drink

This is a delicious and more unique cocktail flavored with a wonderful cinnamon pecan simple syrup.  Hints of fresh lime juice and rum complete the mix to make up a delightful daiquiri cocktail. The rum daiquiri is one of my favorite classic cocktails so this one really hits the spot!  You could even add to your list of interesting holiday cocktails. 

Ingredients:

Simple Syrup

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 Tbsp chopped pecans
  • 1/2 oz lemon juice

The Drink:

  • 2/3 oz fresh lime juice
  • 3/4 oz king cake syrup
  • 2 oz rum
  • 1 oz water

Cocktail Rim:

  • Green yellow, and purple sanding sugars

To Serve:

In a small saucepan over high heat, combine ingredients for the king cake simple syrup. Bring to a boil, stirring until the sugar dissolves.

Remove pan from heat, cover and let steep for 30 minutes. Strain and cool to room temperature before using.

Rub the edge of a coupe glass with a wedge of lime. Rim the edge in green, yellow, and purple sanding sugars.

Combine lime juice, king cake simple syrup, rum, and water for the daiquiri in a shaker filled with ice. Shake well and strain into rimmed glass. Serve immediately.

13. Luscious Elderflower Gin Mardi Gras Cocktail

This last drink has one of my favorite flavors, elderflower.  A splash of St. Germain elderflower liqueur is swirled about with rose-flavored liqueur, sparkling berry juice, and gin.  It creates an elegant Mardi Gras coupe cocktail worthy of the Mardi Gras holiday.

Ingredients:

  • 1 ounce of St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur
  • 1 1/2 ounces of Gin
  • 1/2 ounce Lillet Rose’ Apertiff
  • Sparkling berry juice (like Trader Joe’s French Berry)
  • Lemon juice
  • A splash of bourbon 

To Serve:

Use a champagne coupe or flute for the cocktail. Pour the St-Germain and Gin into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake vigorously then strain the mixture into the glass.  Add the Lillet Rose and then fill with berry juice.
