I’ve always loved the idea of the long wooden dough bowls in different shapes filled with things like apples, pinecones, and cinnamon sticks stuffed in. Maybe some long Frasier fur branches to frame it? It’s definitely more of a holiday feel, but for this we first turn our attention to autumn.

Gourds in green, orange or white also make stunning fillers for a fall dough bowl decor. Especially the small pumpkins and fresh gourds from the market or farm that carry lots of textures, bumps, and curls.
If you’re wondering what else to put in decorative bowls for fall, wheat stalks, dried birch branches, maple leaves, and eucalyptus branches dyed in festive autumn colors also make wonderful accents and beautiful fall dough bowl fillers. Add gourds, apples, or acorns in your wooden dough bowls too. All of these things bring character and boldness to the centerpiece, hopefully, along with your own unique twists and tastes mixed in.

To dress it up, just add a long strip of fabric or a runner beneath the wooden bowl. Here I’ve just placed a little burlap beneath the bowl. A simple oatmeal linen tablecloth lines the table and creates a clean backdrop for the decorations.

To have a little fun with the table settings, I added rounded burlap placemats and some small artificial pumpkins in rosy and gold tones. If you’re looking for a really chic fall touch, try white and gold tone decorative pumpkins. They would look stunning lined up in a bowl or placed directly on the table going down the center. They would also look stunning simply sitting atop the napkin in a place setting.
Tuck in a few leaves and set your small pumpkin on the plate with the dinner napkin. Now you’ve got a super simple table you’ve easily dressed in all the colors of fall.

It is my absolute favorite finishing touch for seasonal and holiday looks like this. I don’t know why?? Maybe it’s because it adds that extra kiss of old-fashioned things to the table that I would most instantly miss if it weren’t there.

These easy fall pumpkin dough bowl decor ideas are a quick little way to add the warmth of fall to the table. You can certainly use this idea to style some things you might already have on hand. Try adding red apples, gourds (artificial or fresh) in varying colors and textures.
Additionally, you might line the inside of the bowl with beautiful curly dried moss and set the pumpkins over that. You might choose to poke in stalks of wheat like these or dried eucalyptus to fill the gaps in between the pumpkins.
