An easy apple moscow mule fall cocktail with vodka, honey crisp apple juice, ginger beer, lime, and spices for an autumn twist on the classic moscow mule.
Make Spiced Syrup:Add the cinnamon sticks, orange peel, sliced ginger, and cloves to a small sauce pan and cover with the sugar and water. Set the saucepan over a medium flame and stir the contents until the sugar is melted into the water.Bring the mixture to a light simmer, reduce heat to low and cover. Cook the syrup (covered) on a light simmer for another 5 minutes.Turn the heat off and let the syrup steep an additional 5 minutes covered.Remove from heat, cover, strain, and let cool.
Make the Spiced Apple Moscow Mule Cocktail:Fill a cocktail shaker 3/4 of the way and splash in the vodka, spiced syrup, and the juice from one of the lime wedges. Cover and shake. Do not strain, but pour the entire contents directly into a moscow mule mug. Top off with 1 oz honey crisp apple juice plus 2 oz of ginger beer. Squeeze in the juice from the last wedge of lime.Using a bar spoon, stir gently to combine flavors and top with apple slices, a cinnamon stick, and a dusting of cinnamon.
