Ingredients

  • ½ oz Vanilla Bean Syrup - recipe follows
  • ½ oz Lemon Juice - fresh squeezed
  • 1 oz Vodka - your favorite good quality vodka
  • 1 oz Blood Orange Juice - fresh squeezed
  • oz Prosecco - or champagne - dry or brut / already chilled for topping off

Instructions

  • Add fresh lemon along with your favorite good quality vodka to your cocktail shaker. Next, splash in a little of the homemade vanilla bean syrup (recipe follows below).
  • Now splash in freshly squeezed blood orange juice. Cover the shaker and shake thoroughly until all ingredients are chilled and combined. Using a strainer, strain the cocktail mixture into a cocktail glass.
  • Top off the blood orange cocktail with chilled sparkling prosecco. Serve cold. If serving on hotter days, strain over fresh large ice cubes first then top off with prosecco.
  • Finish by garnishing with fresh slices of the blood orange citrus fruit.

Notes

If you enjoy the cocktail sweeter, add more vanilla bean syrup as desired and balance out with the lemon juice as needed.  Serve chilled.
