Easy Bourbon Ginger Ale Cocktail with Fresh Mint

Equipment

  • Cocktail Shaker/Mixing glass

Materials

  • 4 leaves Mint fresh
  • 1 wedge Lime for squeezing in
  • 1.5 oz Bourbon/Whiskey
  • .5 oz Berry liqueur I used Apologue Aronia Berry liqueur
  • 6 oz Ginger Ale soda to top off (your favorite brand)

Instructions

  • In a mixing glass or cocktail shaker, muddle the mint leaves until crushed and fragrant.
  • Add bourbon and berry liqueur to the glass and squeeze in the juice from the lime wedge.
  • Fill with ice and shake well until chilled through. About 20 seconds.
  • Pour into a rocks glass and add a little fresh ice.
  • Top off with ginger ale.
  • Garnish with fresh mint and lime wheels.

Notes

If it is not sweet enough for your tastes, add some simple syrup to the cocktail shaker by the teaspoon until desired sweetness is achieved.
Basic simple syrup: 1 cup water, 1 cup sugar heated in a saucepan to combine and then chilled in a container with a tight-fitting lid.  
Always keep some in your fridge to easily and naturally sweeten cocktails.
