Holly Jolly Cranberry Christmas Margarita
A festive and delicious cranberry spiced Christmas margarita decked with sprigs of frosted rosemary for that holly jolly touch!
Equipment
Mixing Glass, Bar Spoon, Sauce pan, Jigger for measuring
Cooling Rack, Paper Plates
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Fresh Ginger - peeled/cubed
- 2 Cinnamon Sticks
- 1 cup Water
- 1 cup Sugar
- 1.5 oz Good Quality Tequila
- 1/2 oz Lime Juice
- 3/4 oz Ginger Cinnamon Syrup
- 1.5 oz Cranberry Juice
- Sparkling Water - to top off, if desired
Instructions
- Prepare Ginger Cinnamon Syrup: In a small sauce pan add cinnamon sticks, fresh ginger, sugar and water. Slowly bring to a simmer. Once simmering, cover the saucepan and reduce the heat to low. Steep the ingredients covered on low for another 15 minutes. Strain and chill. Keep in an airtight container.
- Rim Glass With Spiced Sugar Rim: Rub the rim of your glass with a lime wedge and dip in cinnamon sugar (1 tbs sugar, 1/2 tsp cinnamon ). Set aside.
- In a mixing glass, add fresh squeezed lime juice, ginger cinnamon simple syrup, tequila and cranberry juice. Fill the mixing glass about halfway with ice and stir everything with a bar spoon until combined and chilled through.
- Pour cocktail mix into your sugar rimmed glass. Top off with sparkling water. Add more ice as needed. Garnish with fresh rosemary, cranberries, or a cinnamon stick.
